Cruise with a Mentor
The CanBoat North Shore (CanBoat North Shore) is dedicated to the education of new boaters and boaters who wish to learn more about safe boating on the West Coast. For students who have recently completed Boating 2 and Boating 3 Combined or Boating 4, we offer the opportunity to cruise with a Mentor for your first longer voyage to Desolation Sound, the Gulf Islands or even further afield.
Pre-requisite:
• Recently completed Boating 2 and Boating 3 Combined or Boating 4. And/Or….
• Being a current Member of the North Shore Power Squadron.
The concept is that Instructors and older CanBoat North Shore Members post their intended summer cruising itineraries with dates, destinations and other information on our website.
If you are interested in joining them for part or all of their summer you can contact them so as to be considered for inclusion in their summer cruise.
This will give inexperienced boaters the opportunity to learn from the experience of their fellow CanBoat North Shore members by observing firsthand how to navigate through narrow tidal passages, how to safely anchor, stern-tie, and many other boating skills.

Description:
We (Edith and I) thought we would send you our outline 2024 summer Itinerary. It is subject to change on a whim or by the weather as you all know. It does however give you our intensions.
If anyone would like to join us for a while please contact us while we are out and we can raft or dock together. Our group of boats should monitor and call on VHF Channel 72 as well as keeping a watch on Channel 16.
Southern Belle is now equipped with Starlink so you can also email us to find out exactly where we are. I hope some of you will join/raft with us for some fishing, prawning crabbing or just for a drink and a chat.
